Jörn completed a Master's degree in Geoinformation and Visualization at the University of Potsdam with a focus on analysis and open-source-based visualization of statistical mass data. Previously, he completed his bachelor's degree in geography and economics at Humboldt University in Berlin. One focus of this study was the analysis of potential impacts of Iceland's planned EU accession on the fisheries sector.

He has been working as an information manager at eclareon since 2015 and as a project manager at ideas into energy since 2021. Here he manages and supports ongoing capacity development projects for renewable energy dissemination.
